Just wondering why the SS calls my money a "benefit"? I have been paying into the SS since I started working at the age of 15. That is my money and is not a benefit. SS needs to figure out a different name for my account. Maybe call it the government personal retirement account? If someone needs to withdraw earlier then maybe they can call it "early withdrawal"? Also, I expect that when I retire, I have access to my money. All of my money. And, why can't I have one lump sum when I retire? Why can't I do with my money what I want to do with it? I certainly can manage my money better than the government at this point that's for sure.
